My Entrepreneurship Story

I personally have not been very exposed to entrepreneurship. Coming from a suburb of D.C., most people worked for the government. Ofcourse there are plenty of entrepreneurs where I grew up, however the people I interacted with most were not entrepreneurs and did not have immediate family that were entrepreneurs as well.
My first and really only interaction with entrepreneurship is from the show “Shark Tank”. This show portrays entrepreneurs who pitch their ideas to wealthier individuals in hopes of receiving money to help continue their business. Although I knew nothing about entrepreneurship, I became very interested in this show and began to watch it for hours a week. It soon became one of my favorite shows and definitely made me much more interested in entrepreneurship.
In high school I was student body president and it was during this time that I planned and led many new projects that my school has never seen before. Although I’m not quite sure this can count as true entrepreneurship, it is definitely one of the closest experiences I have to it.
In regard to why I decided to enroll in ENT 3003, it was simply that I needed an elective that would interest me. As a freshman I am taking many gen-ed classes that are quite boring/that I’m not interested in. Since I am also taking another very difficult class, I wanted to balance my schedule with a class that was not extremely overwhelming and one that I would simply enjoy going to. Since watching Shark Tank, I have always wanted to learn more about the background of entrepreneurship, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to finally learn more.

  2. Hi Aaron!
Your story is very inspirational! You structured your post exceptional and great addition of the photos. I'm interested in "shark tank" too. You are so nice to be a student president in high school and your mission is awesome. I'm curious on what your career goals are and if they are related to your organization you are in in your high school since it seems like a big part of your life. Your accomplishments are amazing...Congrats!

Hi Aaron, That is insane that you were one Shark Tank pitching you ideas to them. Getting our idea out the on major platform such as Shark Tank is basically what this class wants us to get to and you've already done it. You seem to be a bright person with great ideas that could help a lot of people. Congradulations, that is truly amazing

I really enjoyed this post and I thought it was very unique. As you said yourself you weren't really exposed to entrepreneurship but you still found an experience worth writing about. I think that your story does have to do with you being exposed to entrepreneurship but I wish you had talked about you doing something entrepreneurial. But like I said I think this entry is unique and I enjoyed reading it.
