14A - Halfway reflection

1.     I have done many things to keep up with the requirements of this course. First off, I set a schedule for all requirements of this class. I devote a certain amount of time each day for this class, and for all my other class. In addition, I strongly believe going to live lectures greatly helps with this class. By going to live lectures, you are forced to watch and interact with the professor and will not be distracted or watch the lecture on double speed. With lectures on Monday and Wednesday, I do one assignment Tuesday and the other Thursday. I then do the cupcake Friday and responses on Sunday. By following this schedule, I am sure to stay up with all the assignments/requirements. This class has allowed me to become much more organized.

2.     A moment I felt like giving up was during week 3 when I forgot to do all the responses on other people’s blog posts for the week. This was an automatic loss of 3 points which made me very upset. This allowed me to create the schedule I previously talked about to prevent something like this from happening again. Another example is when I interviewed someone about my new idea for an assignment and they completely roasted my idea. Although this originally made me upset, it gave me a more tenacious attitude.

3.     Three tips I would offer a student for next semester are:
a.     Go to every live lecture.
b.     Don’t take anything personally; it is okay if people tear apart your ideas, they are just helping you become a better entrepreneur in the long run.
c.     Take time with your interviews, these are the most important part of many of your assignments and will greatly help with the class and how much you learn from it.

  1. Aaron,

It was really cool to read about the schedule you have set for yourself. I like how you do a little bit of work every day, so it does not pile up to be completed last minute. Personally, I divide the assignments and lectures into two days, where I do the assignments on one day and watch the lectures on another. I prefer to get the work done in two sittings rather than every day of the week. This works best for me, but it was cool to see how your schedule is different than mine yet works best for you. Great post!

It was very interesting to learn how you attack this class. I liked the part of your entry where you talk about the person you were interviewing making fun of your idea. I liked this because you said that although it hurt you didn't take it personally and instead chose to apply their opinion to make your idea better.

  3. Hi Aaron,
Great blog post! It sounds like you are very organized and have a great schedule figured out for this class. I have not been able to attend any of the live lectures, but I am sure that it is very helpful to go and be able to ask questions and interact in real time. I have also missed a few assignments which stressed me out but overall I know that my hard work through the entire course will get me the grade that I deserve.
